Daily flights are available from all major Brazilian cities to the Cunha Machado Airport in São Luís. Non-stop flights are available from Belém, Brasília, Fortaleza, Manaus, Parnaíba e Teresina. Also available are flights from Curitiba, Goiânia, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo with one or more stops.
The main access to São Luís by road is through the BR 135.
